Here is an incredible story of a brave little boy who saved a little girl’s life. When he knew something was not right…he sprung into action. Not only did he alert adults, he pursued the assailant and rescued her with his own two bare hands. Truly an amazing tale.
VIA|When 11-year-old TJ Smith first saw a man take the little girl off her scooter and walk away with her, he thought maybe the man was her cousin.
But then he realized something was wrong, reports Fox 59.
TJ ran to the house of an adult neighbor, Brad Ware, and told him what happened. Ware tells KFDX:
“Me and my wife were sitting on the couch and this young man he ran up to the door and told me: ‘Brad, Brad some guy just kidnapped this little girl’ and the first thing that came to my mind, I took off out the door.”
Initially, Ware was going to chase the suspect down on foot, but then decided better of it and ran back to his house to grab his car keys. His wife hopped in the car and the pair began scouring the area for the suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Raeshawn Perez, and the 7-year-old girl.
According to The Washington Post, after a neighbor pointed the couple in the right direction, Ware and his wife continued their pursuit of the man.
They found TJ, who had continued following the man after alerting them, near a vacant house in time to see the suspect attempting to put the girl through one of the windows.
Ware’s wife yelled at the suspect to put the girl down and Ware sprung into action. He explains:
“He took off running and I caught him in the street and kicked him in the groin when I had him and he squirmed off and ran across the street and as soon as he ran across the street, he hit the grass and that’s when I tackled him.”
Ware held Perez until police arrived. While they were waiting, Perez told Ware that he just wanted to have sex with the girl. Police report that Perez also said that after sex he was planning on returning the girl to her home.
